Ingredients
- 1 cup of plain (or all-purpose) flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons Lyles Black Treacle
Preparation
- Knead the flour and butter together until smooth
- Add all the other ingredients and stir thoroughly
- Stir in 1 tablespoon hot water to moisten the batter
- Splat dollops of batter onto a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 350F for 20 minutes

I enjoyed my late night snack. Very tasty, nice ginger flavour. Made me feel good. Ahhh!
